Egbert Friedl at work

Born in Germany in 1961, Egbert Friedl studied graphic design in Nuernberg. In 1987 he started his working relationship with Revell, a world leader in model kits. Having built models throughout his childhood and early adult years, Egbert provided Revell with exemplary exhibit models of their kits that often made it onto the box cover.

Over the years, Egbert has tried various tools and techniques, such as color pencils, water colors, oil and also airbrush. He now uses the traditional tools of brushes and acrylic paint.

The artist likes to focus on one plane to show his love for detail. Atmosphere and setting are very important in his art work. All of his artwork displays an eye for light, spatial relationship and perspective of all objects, and exactness down to the last rivet. All illustrations are painstakingly researched in their technical accuracy of the actual craft.
